In most cases, insurance does not cover gynecomastia surgery unless it is deemed medically necessary. A preapproval process, including photos and medical records, may be required.
Scarring is minimal, as incisions are placed discreetly around the areola or in natural chest creases. Scars fade significantly over 12–18 months with proper care.
Swelling peaks in the first few weeks and gradually subsides over three to six months, revealing final results.
Temporary numbness or hypersensitivity can occur and usually resolves within a year. Permanent changes in sensation are very rare.
