PRP For Facial Rejuvenation

Platelet-rich plasma facial rejuvenation is a natural, non-surgical procedure with virtually no downtime.

While results are immediate, overtime, PRP can encourage new collagen production, improve skin elasticity, and more.

The cost of platelet-rich plasma for facial rejuvenation ranges from $800 to $1,600.

What is platelet-rich plasma (PRP)?

Platelet-rich plasma is a solid component in blood that’s most known for aiding blood clotting after an injury. PRP contains protein growth factors called fibrin that help heal the injury.

Platelet-rich plasma rejuvenates the face by creating a lattice of healing proteins under the skin. These proteins encourage new collagen production, smooth fine lines and wrinkles, add youthful volume, and improve skin elasticity.

PRP therapy has been used by medical professionals for decades to treat ligament and tendon injuries and chronic pain like arthritis.

Platelet-rich plasma is not a drug—it’s 100 percent natural!

What can I expect during the procedure?

The procedure begins by extracting a small amount of blood from the patient’s arm. The blood is put in a vile and spun in a centrifuge, which separates the red blood cells from the platelet-rich plasma.

Prior to injection, patients receive a topical numbing cream on the face to reduce discomfort.

Lastly, PRP is carefully injected into areas of the face that lack fullness, in fine lines and wrinkles.

What is the recovery process like?

Results are visible immediately; however, excess swelling at injection sites is typical for several hours following the procedure. These sites will lose some volume as the PRP settles into the dermis.

Bruising is uncommon but may occur near injection sites. Most patients are fully healed a day or two after the procedure.

Many women find that results continue to improve several months after the procedure, as the injected growth factors encourage stem cells to produce more collagen, which can look even better over time.

While you heal, it’s best to avoid direct sunlight.

How long do results last?

Unlike BOTOX and other dermal fillers that break down in the body over time, platelet-rich plasma tends to last longer and may even improve over time.

Results typically last between 18 months and two years, depending on the number of treatments.

For best results, we recommend two or three treatments, spaced at four to eight-week intervals.

Am I a good Candidate for platelet-rich plasma treatments?

Platelet-rich plasma treatments are low risk and very effective. Because PRP occurs naturally in the body, there is little risk of infection or adverse reaction to the injections.

Ideal candidates are in good general health, interested in facial rejuvenation, and prefer an alternative to surgery.
