Arm Lift Surgery In Mishawaka

Arm Lift woman looking at arm

Loose or sagging skin under the arms is difficult to remedy with traditional diet and exercise.

Excessive weight loss, heredity, and natural aging contribute to the problem, which has traditionally been solved with invasive surgical procedures that leave scars and don’t restore a healthy contour or shape.

BodyTite is the latest in arm lift surgery at our Mishawaka, IN clinic. Also known as brachioplasty, this procedure delivers tight, sculpted results without any scarring to patients in Elkhart, South Bend, and across the Michiana region.

BodyTite is a minimally-invasive surgery performed using local anesthesia. BodyTite utilizes radiofrequency-assisted liposuction (RFAL), which melts away fat while tightening loose skin and improving arm contour and shape.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does minimally-invasive mean?

Minimally-invasive procedures offer reduced recovery time and less swelling, bruising, and discomfort following surgery.

BodyTite is performed using local anesthesia. Patients are awake during the procedure, and they typically experience mild to no discomfort.

The incision is very small and hardly noticeable once healed.

What happens during the procedure?

Before surgery, a surgeon will examine the patient and mark the arms where treatment is needed. The marked sites are then cleaned and prepared to receive anesthetic, which numbs the surrounding fat tissue.

A single, small incision is made in the arm—this is where the BodyTite radiofrequency probe and cannula is inserted. Radiofrequency energy flows from the internal cannula to the electrode on the skin’s surface. Once the fat has been liquefied, the cannula extracts the fat as the skin smooths and tightens.

How does BodyTite tighten skin?

In addition to removing unwanted fat, the BodyTite arm lift simultaneously tightens the skin. The heat generated around the cannula tip coagulates blood vessels and liquefies fat tissue, which allows a surgeon to sculpt the arms with more precision and accuracy.

Body contouring will continue to improve for up to six months after the procedure.

What’s recovery like after a BodyTite Procedure?

Patients can expect minimal downtime following a BodyTite arm lift procedure. After surgery, a pressure garment will be applied around the incision site and treated areas.

Patients will experience soreness around the treated area. Pain medication may be prescribed to treat discomfort.

Most patients can go back to work in one to three days following surgery and may return to regular activities within a few weeks.

Who is a good candidate for Arm Lift surgery?

Patients interested in a BodyTite arm lift should be non-smokers and relatively close to their ideal body weight. Anyone uncomfortable or displeased with loose or sagging skin around the arms might consider this minimally-invasive procedure with limited recovery.

Most people are good candidates for Arm Lift BodyTite surgery, but we recommend a consultation to anyone who wants to reduce fat and tighten skin at the same time.
