Stem Cell Facial

Age associated skin changes are due to the fact that skin cells divide more slowly and the layers of skin become thinner and lose their elasticity over time. The skin is not the only part of the face that is susceptible to time and gravity.

The muscles and tissues deep within the facial structures also atrophy and decrease in size, leading to the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Our own bodies possess the ingredients to repair some of these tissues and reverse the effects of time.

Stem Cell facials are wonderful for the revitalization of the skin.  This treatment includes the use of platelet-rich plasma in combination with the microneedling procedure to improve skin texture and diminish fine lines and wrinkles.  This facial is ideal for anti-aging treatment, as well as being very beneficial for acne-prone skin. 

The procedure uses your own blood which contains regenerative stem cells and growth factors.   To start, a small amount of blood is drawn and placed in a centrifuge to separate the components of blood. Plasma and platelets are divided from the red and white blood cells, creating platelet-rich plasma or PRP. 

Platelets are known to contain large quantities of growth factors which attract stem cells and stimulate the healing of damaged tissues. Clinical work over the last several years has established the safety and usefulness of platelet‐rich plasma (PRP) for tissue repair and healing.  PRP is used in combination with the collagen-inducing effects of micro needling for the best, long-lasting results.

Microneedling involves the use of a special pen-like device on the skin. The MDPen skin needling system allows for controlled induction of the skin’s self-repair mechanism by creating micro-injuries, or channels, in the skin to trigger new collagen synthesis and attraction of the body’s growth factors and stem cells. 

The result is smoother, firmer, younger-looking skin.  Microneedling is performed with a sterile needle head and typically takes between 30-60 minutes depending on the area of treatment.

The Stem Cell facial can be repeated over time and has the benefit of minimal downtime, rapid results and long-lasting improvement in the skin’s texture and quality. You may experience slight sensitivity for 24-48 hours after the procedure.
