Frequently Asked Questions About Vollure XC

What is Vollure XC made of?

Vollure XC is a hyaluronic acid injectable gel. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring sugar found in the body that is known for delivering nutrients and hydration to the skin. The colorless gel adds plumpness to sunken facial creases and smooths the skin for a youthful effect.

This FDA-approved dermal filler also contains small amounts of anesthetic to increase patient comfort during injection.

Am I a good candidate for Vollure XC?

Just about anyone with deep wrinkles in the mid face is a good candidate for Vollure XC.

You may not be a good candidate if you have a history of anaphylaxis; multiple or severe allergies; or a history of allergies to Lidocaine (an anesthetic) or Gram-positive bacterial proteins.

What should I expect during treatment?

Prior to the procedure, patients are advised to stop taking blood thinners.

Vollure treatment sessions are short, typically lasting no longer than an hour. Prior to the appointment, patients will need to remove any makeup; this may also be done by a provider.

During the procedure, patients should expect to feel some pressure near injection sites, but no pain.

How many treatments of Vollure XC do I need?

Only one treatment is required to achieve optimal results; however, this might include anywhere from one to three syringes of product, depending on how much volume is needed

Facial corrections are temporary. Overtime, Vollure XC will naturally break down and absorb into the body.

Fortunately, facial fillers allow patients to build on their results—ideal for first-time patient who don’t know what to expect. If desired, patients can add volume two to three weeks after the first treatment.

Touch-up injections are available (typically every 18 months or so) to maintain preferred results.

What’s recovery like following Vollure XC?

Results are immediate; however, patients may experience slight soreness, swelling, or temporary redness near injection sites, but this is easily managed by an ice pack.

Patients worried about pain or bruising might also consider arnica—a homeopathic herb added to gels, creams, or ointments that provides topical relief.

Following treatment, patients should avoid sun or excessive heat exposure as well as alcohol for at least 24 hours. Talk to your provider about when it’s safe to use makeup following treatment.

How long do results last?

Correction is temporary but long lasting—up to 18 months.
