Volume loss under the skin is one of the most frequent physical changes associated with aging or significant weight loss. Further, declining volume in underlying tissues weakens the skin’s structure and support, often resulting in loose skin, fine lines, and wrinkles. Instead of accepting the cosmetic impacts of volume loss, many individuals instead turn to dermal fillers in Indiana for noticeable enhancements.

These non-invasive injections are an excellent option for restoring volume in a broad spectrum of areas, including the face and hands, with minimal side effects or recovery time. Additionally, some dermal fillers stimulate the natural production of collagen for continued improvement. However, before undergoing treatment, consider speaking with our board-certified plastic surgeons about whether dermal injectables are right for you and your treatment goals.

Why Consider Getting Dermal Fillers?

Many Indiana residents consider getting dermal injections for the broad spectrum, contour, and facial improvements they offer. For instance, many wrinkles, fine lines, and skin folds are caused by declining skin and tissue volume, but these concerns are fixable for months to years with dermal injectables.

By choosing dermal fillers, you can also avoid the lengthy recovery periods, severe risks, and potential side effects of invasive surgery. For instance, Juvederm and Revanesse, two popular fillers, contain hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring product responsible for retaining moisture in the skin and underlying tissues. Since hyaluronic acid is an organic component found in the skin, the risk of an allergic or adverse reaction is rare and other side effects become less likely.

Different Types of Dermal Fillers Explained

Our Indiana plastic surgery practice offers various dermal filler options, including multiple types of Juvederm and Revanesse.

Juvederm Vollure

Juvederm Vollure, one of the most popular injectable options, features results that could last for up to 12 months and be preserved with additional sessions. These fillers primarily reduce moderate-to-severe nasolabial folds and wrinkles caused by midfacial volume loss. Juvederm Vollure injections are also less likely to cause minor inflammation and discomfort during and after treatment.

Juvederm Voluma

Meanwhile, the best option for restoring volume in the mid-face, particularly the cheeks, is Juvederm Voluma. Featuring a thicker material consistency, these injections provide more substantial volume restoration.  In addition, the fillers also stimulate nearby tissue to produce new collagen, restore volume in the cheeks, and further reduce wrinkles.

Juvederm Ultra

One of the standard dermal fillers for lip augmentation, Juvederm Ultra injections could enhance lip size for six to 12 months due to a smooth but flexible material consistency. In addition, the dermal fillers could reduce early signs of aging like wrinkles and skin laxity on the face and jawline. The enhancements typically last around nine months.

Revanesse Versa

Revanesse Versa injections, another dermal injectable for moderate to severe wrinkles, reduce skin folds and nasolabial folds like laugh lines. In addition, the smoother consistency of Revanesse Versa makes them an ideal choice for augmenting an individual’s lip size. The injections’ effects typically last for about  twelve to eighteen months. After around twelve months, a patient can return to our plastic surgery practice to maintain their results with follow up treatment.

Deciding between the right dermal filler for the circumstance can be challenging, but our board-certified plastic surgeons in Indiana could help a prospective patient choose the right treatment for them.

Consider Dermal Filler Injections in Indiana for Skin Volume Restoration

Dermal fillers in Indiana are a rather popular choice for restoring volume to the face, neck, and hands. Since they are non-invasive and use hyaluronic acid, they are a safe choice for many individuals.

Specifically, our office offers Revanesse injections and several forms of Juvederm fillers. Though you will likely need follow-up treatments to maintain your results for longer than 12 to 18 months, the minimal side effects and recovery make the process ideal.

After getting dermal injectables, patients report feeling notably more confident in their appearance. If you are interested in hearing more, call our plastic surgery practice to discuss your ideal cosmetic changes and results.
