Valentine's Special

As we age, many aspects of our appearance change, including our skin. Over time, the skin begins to lose tone and elasticity, leading to sagging, fine lines, and wrinkles. Fortunately, there are solutions to these common problems that can help increase your confidence and restore a more youthful appearance.

A facelift in Indiana can rejuvenate your look for healthier, younger-looking skin. Following the procedure, most people cannot tell that there was any surgery that took place, as the areas of incision can be hidden by the hairline, jawline, or behind the ears. The benefits of this surgery can last up to ten years, with even longer-lasting effects on a person’s confidence.

Benefits of a Facelift

Most people experience changes in the shape of their faces and the appearance of their skin as they age due to lost elasticity and additional fat deposits below the skin’s surface. A facelift at The Centre, P.C.’s Indiana clinic, also called a rhytidectomy, can provide the following benefits to counteract the effects of aging:

  • Reduced appearance of sagging or wrinkled skin
  • Removal of excess skin at the lower jawline
  • Smoothing of skin folds and lines around the nose and mouth area

A facelift typically involves removing excess skin, smoothing out folds and deep wrinkles, and tightening the facial skin tissues. As a result, a facelift can counteract age-related changes in your skin and face for a revitalized appearance.

What to Expect Before and After a Facelift Procedure

Despite being an outpatient procedure, a facelift is considered major medical surgery, so it is vital to consult with a board-certified surgeon at our Indiana clinic. Before surgery, you will meet with your plastic surgeon to discuss past medical history, goals for getting a facelift, and expectations for the procedure, including prep and recovery guidelines. The doctor will usually take measurements and pictures during the consultation and before surgical intervention.

Recovery for Facial Tightening Surgery

Barring any health complications, the patient can usually go home after the procedure without an overnight stay in the hospital. Most facelift surgeries take anywhere from two to five hours, depending on the specific patient and their goals. Recovery usually takes up to a few weeks for the incision site to heal and swelling to fully decrease.

Our Indiana facelift surgeons will also schedule follow-up appointments to monitor your healing process and remove stitches from the incision site. As swelling decreases, the patient can expect to see tighter, smoother, and more youthful-looking facial skin.
