Facial plastic surgery refers to any kind of procedure designed to enhance the appearance of the features and structures of the head and neck. This can involve anything from facelifts to cheek implants, and there are various methods available to achieve your desired look. You might be interested in this surgery to reconstruct a feature after a severe injury or to improve a birth defect.

Deciding to undergo cosmetic surgery is a highly personal decision—especially when in regards to your face, which is the most visible part of the body. We understand it can be challenging to find a medical professional who you trust to provide safe, quality care. There are many places to receive facial plastic surgery in Indiana but we invite you to see what makes our board-certified plastic surgeons at The Centre, P.C. stand out from the rest.

There are many ways to contour, tighten, lift, and shape the face and neck. Some of the more frequently performed procedures are eyelid lifts, facelifts, neck lifts, cheek lifts, implants, liposuction, rhinoplasties, and ear pinning. Depending on the desired outcome, these procedures can be done independently or in conjunction with each other.

Eyelid Lift (Blepharoplasty)

Blepharoplasty is a type of facial cosmetic surgery in Indiana that aims to correct eye puffiness, bags or dark circles under the eyes, and drooping eyelids. Plastic surgeons can operate on either the upper lid, the lower lid, or both. This is usually a same-day procedure done in an ambulatory surgery center.

Facelift (Rhytidectomy)

A rhytidectomy can tighten skin on the face and neck to decrease wrinkles and laxity on the face. A full facelift involves tightening skin on the cheeks, neck, and jowls, while a mini facelift tightens skin on the cheeks and jowls, but not the neck. Patients can usually go home the day of surgery but some might opt to stay the night at a nearby hotel as they will be coming into the office.

Facial Implants

Facial implants fit into the cheek, chin, or jaw, and are designed to bring facial features into proportion, enhancing the overall appearance. In Indiana, facial plastic surgery involving implants is often combined with other outpatient procedures.

Neck and Brow Lifts

A brow lift (also called a forehead lift) can tighten the skin at the forehead, creating a smoother look by getting rid of wrinkles that develop over time. A surgical neck lift, meanwhile, can remove the skin tissue that create jowls and muscle banding in the neck. It can also produce a strong, defined jawline, which is free from sagging skin.

Face and Neck Liposuction

Facial liposuction can remove fatty tissue from the cheeks, chin, and neck. It enhances cheekbones, reduces extra fat from the neck, and sculpts the chin. Facial liposuction is also an outpatient procedure sometimes performed under local anesthetic.

Nose Job (Rhinoplasty)

The purpose of a rhinoplasty is to contour the nose to a more desirable shape. A medical professional can increase or decrease the size of the nose, reshape the tip, or remove bone from the nasal bridge. Patients can also choose to straighten their nose or reduce their nostril size. Most patients go home directly after their surgery.

Ear Pinning (Otoplasty)

Otoplasty is any procedure that improves the appearance of the ears. It can fix an ear that has suffered damage or decrease the size of overly large ears. The most common facial plastic surgery in Indiana involving the ears is known as ear pinning. This is done by positioning conspicuous ears closer to the head. Ear pinning is a relatively simple outpatient procedure.
